Anyone who has done the house hut will know it's not an easy task...especially if your price range is as low as ours in an area as pricey as ours. But we are hopeful that God will provide the right house in the right neighborhood in His timing. I have sort of given up trying to do things in my timeline. Davey and I have anticipated too much over the last 3 years that either didn't happen the way we thought or we are still waiting on. It can be difficult to be stuck' in this period of waiting but I believe it is helping me grow spiritually in ways I never would have otherwise. As I reflect on God's timing in hopeful anticipation of what is to come I can't help but think of the song In His Time which says
"Lord, please show me everyday, as You're teaching me Your way, that You do just what You say in Your time."
So, here's to happy house hunting!
When David and I were looking for our first house back in 1985, starter homes were going for $65K, and we could afford $55K. That was tough. We learned that we could not afford a "nice" house, but began to look for homes that had the potential to be nice. In hind sight, the house we ended up with was so perfect for us. It had many features that were so custom made for us that we weren't even aware of when we bought it, eg. a dead end street great for the kids riding bikes. We thank God for knowing our future needs even when we weren't aware of them. I know He'll do the same for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for that encouragement. That is exactly where we are in life and I am strangely okay with it. Davey and I have both talked about how we are thankful that we are not in a place where we can start out with our "dream home" like so many of our generation think they should. Of course it would be nice and it is hard to see friends and family who are closer to that than we are and not be jealous, but I am excited to see God work in ways similar to what you have described.
