The theme of our meetings this year has been "A Beautiful Mess." Such a fitting title for a bunch of moms of little kids, right? Our lives are messy. We are sinners living with and training little sinners. (Not a great combination.) We experience heart ache, disappointment, frustration, loneliness, let down, and the list could go on. Only with God can our messes be made "beautiful."
The string heart was our craft tonight. |
For some reason this hymn came to me as I was driving home tonight. Perhaps because yesterday was Easter (or maybe because I was listening to it earlier). I am so thankful for my Savior who came to reclaim this ruined sinner.
- “Man of Sorrows!” what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim.
Hallelujah! What a Savior! - Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior! - Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
“Full atonement!” can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior! - Lifted up was He to die;
“It is finished!” was His cry;
Now in Heav’n exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior! - When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!
Love that! I'm a beautiful mess too. Although my kids are grown!
