Day 158: Ah Choo!

Micah has a wipe box with pieces of cloth in it to play with. This afternoon he came up to me and put it on my nose like a tissue and started to make a blowing sound. (He already gets the concept of nose blowing. It's wonderful!) He was elated when I "blew" my nose for him.

Today was a day to get stuff done around the Ermold household. Part of that was hanging pictures! I love stuff on the walls. It makes it feel so much more like a home. :) I still have more wall space to fill but this will do for now.

Our engagement picture above my dresser

A family picture and an E above Davey's dresser

The right side of the boys room-the quilt my grandmother made for him, a family picture, and a 3 frame picture of Daniel playing at Davey's parents.

the left side of the boys room- the quilt my grandmother made Micah and 2 pictures of trucks.
(The quilt hanging over the crib is one a friend made for Micah)

This was put up 2 weeks ago but I thought I'd add it. It is a wall in our living room.
(Don't mind the diapers and bags of wipe refill under the bench.)

Another wall that was done 2 weeks ago.

Day 157: Thankful

Today was my last day of work for the summer! I am so thankful for the ladies who have been dedicated to caring for and training my babies while I did the same for others. It is such a blessing to have the set up I have with my boys in childcare right down. Not only do I get to see them during the day but I have the opportunity to create a friendship with the women who care for them. Here are picture of the boys with Miss Cora and Miss Felicia. Micah was due for a nap so he's a bit grumpy in all of these pictures.

And of course Micah and Matthias. Micah is going to miss them!

IT'S SUMMER FOR THIS TEACHER!!!!!

Enough of the Let it Go parodys, someone needs to make a parody of "In Summer" about teachers.

Day 156: Be Careful Mommy

In the last few days, any time I go around corners while driving to and from work, Daniel turns in to a back seat driver and starts yelling, "Be careful mommy!" One of the roads I take to work is very curvy and he'll tell me at every curve. It is really cute.

Tonight for dinner we had Kraft Macaroni and cheese and canned peas...a stark contrast to last night's healthy meal! But the boys loved it! Micah especially loved the peas.

Daniel was tasked with putting all of his magnets back on the fridge. He stepped on one which stuck to his foot and put it on the fridge. He was so proud of himself. Until he got frustrated because they wouldn't all work for him...

So, he resorted to dancing instead!

Day 155: What's For Dinner?

Oven roasted veggies was what we had tonight! Sooo tasty!

I think I found this on pinterest but when I looked it up the ingredients vary slightly what is on my recipe card. So here is the link to the website I think we got this from and below will be the slightly varied recipe I used tonight.

Ready for the oven!

Oven Roasted Vegetables

Ingredient
1 bundle asparague (except we didn't have any so it's not in mine)
2 medium yellow squash
1 medium green squash
1 small bag of baby carrots (or cut larger carrots to that size)
1 package grape tomatoes
1 small bag of baby red potatoes (3lb)
1/4 c EVOO
2 Tbsp rosemary
2 1/2 Tbsp dried basil
McCormick steak seasoning (to taste)

Directions
1. Preheat the oven 425
2. Cut squash and potatoes into similar size chuncks Cut 1" offf asparagus bottom and discard; cut remainter in half.
3. Combine all vegetables in a big bowl and sprinckle EVOO and spices on top. Mix. (I use my hands)
4. Place mixture in deep dish, cover, and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and cook for another 10-15 mins.

Warning: This makes a lot. I used 2 13x9 baking pans so the veggies would cook more evenly.

Day 154: My little Helper

Today I brought Daniel down to my classroom to "help" me clean. He had a lot of fun getting out of the nursery for some one-on-one mommy time.

Then after school the boys and I went for Frozen Yogurt! On our way there I told Daniel where we were going to Sweet Frog and he said "I eat a froggy? Mommy, I don't want to eat a froggy..." haha

Day 153: End of Year Cleaning!

Today we (preschool and kindergarten teachers) began our end of the year cleaning spree at school. We always take the larger items (chairs, play kitchens etc...) outside with some scrubbing bubbles and a power washer. Boy is there a difference when we're done!

Day 152: Inside Out

Today our church had our first "Inside Out" day where we stepped out of the four walls of our church and as a church body we reached out to our local community. There were several teams that went to homes and a local park for yard work and a large group of us who stayed at the church and held a free car wash with food and a moon bounce. It was amazing how difficult it was for people to believe we were doing something that was actually free. They thought for sure we were looking for donation or something. I overheard one man say, as he got out of his car, "this is the first time I think I have ever seen anything that is actually free. I might actually attend this church." Wow, what a testimony. I am so glad we could be a little light in that mans life, even if he never comes to our church a seed may have been planted that never would have if we had even accepted donations.
