Bekah Mae

These pictures that were taken at the hospital by Bella Baby.  The blanket was made by Bekah's Great Aunt Robin. Isn't it beautiful?

I love the way he loves her.

The Boys are Back!

Yesterday afternoon, the boys came home from my in-laws, where they've been for a week. It has been so quiet and relaxing around here I wasn't sure I was ready to have them home. Don't get me wrong, I missed them greatly and was extremely happy to see them and have our whole family under one roof. Now the crazy begins!

They ADORE Bekah. Daniel wants to hold her and kiss her. He really wants to help feed her but that's not exactly an option right now. He also thinks she should have her paci in her mouth at all times. Micah wants to rock her and give her kisses and hold her. There's just way too much cuteness going on here.

Mom-mom also came to visit and meet Bekah for the first time.

The Nursery

It has always been a little dream of mine to actually have a nursery for my kids. With the boys, we lived in my parents' basement. Both started off sleeping in a pack-and-play in our room, and ended up in a makeshift room behind a curtain and some strategically placed book shelves in a different area of the basement. Needless to say, there was no nursery for the boys, but I was very excited to get to do a nursery for my little girl in our new house.

This week, Davey finished hanging everything in the room. The only thing missing in the pictures is our glider that Davey currently moves up and down the stairs from the living room to our bedroom each morning and night because it's the only seat comfortable enough to sit in to feed Bekah while I am recovering from the c-section.

When looking for a girly bedding set, I really wanted either pink and grey, or yellow and grey. I decided on yellow and grey when I found this bed set from Pottery Barn on Amazon (or was it ebay?). Needless to say, we didn't pay full price for it, which was great because it would have been over our budget in the store.

After picking our bedding we decided to paint the walls grey. My mother-in-law, Marie, and her friend, Gayle, came to visit for two days and help us paint. More like do the painting for us. While tossing around the idea of doing an accent wall, I mentioned that having a chevron wall would be a dream, but there is no way I would be able to do it or ask someone else to try. Gayle looked up some tutorials on Pinterest and did it for me! Awesome! It turned out SO neat! And it matches the chevron in the bedding.

We also painted the crib white, and the changing table and dresser yellow. Actually, Gayle did that for us too!  Thanks Marie and Gayle, we couldn't have done it all with out your help!

Browsing Pinterest can be dangerous when looking for nursery ideas, but I found this really cute pom-pom mobile that I fell in love with and wanted for the room. So, I found some tutorials and went to work on making my own! It took me a while, but I love the way it turned out.

The initials above the changing table were made by our friend Cora, who takes care of our babies while I work. They go perfectly with the room. Thank you Cora!

I love the way everything looks. It's the only room in the house that is painted and put together. It's my happy place. It makes me smile just to walk in there.

Good to Be Home

Yesterday, on the 5 year anniversary of our engagement, we got to bring our baby girl home from the hospital.  We were hopping we'd get to leave yesterday and were excited when we got the word from the doctor giving us the okay. It is so nice to be able to recover in the comfort of home.

Of course, I have it pretty easy. Davey has me set up and is waiting on me hand and foot so I don't over do it. He even keeps track of when I can take which meds and brings them to me when I need them. He's so good to me!

The boys are still at Grandma Ermold's and will come home on Wednesday. I miss them lots but it's nice to have them gone while I go through the roughest part of my recovery and to give us some special bonding time with Bekah. We've been told Daniel talks about Bekah all of the time and refers to her has "Princess Bekah." So sweet! I think we're in for some serious cuteness when they get home.

Ready to go home!

Today I spent the day in the rocker watching the Halmark Channel and adoring this sweet blessing.

Happy Valentine's Day! This is the best gift!

Born 9:20am
7lb 12oz
19in long

This morning we arrived at the hospital at 5:30 to get prepped for the c-sction which was supposed to be at 7:30. We got bumped to 9 because it was so busy. Which means we wouldn't have needed  to be here quite as early but that's ok. She here now! And she is so precious. We are completely in love.

It was pretty peaceful with no visitors during the day so I had the opportunity to rest after the c-section which was actually really nice.

The big brothers arrived with the grandparents around 7:30pm. Micah was excited at first then didn't seem interested in anything but running around the hospital room and attempting to push buttons.Daniel was very interested and wanted to hold her. He kept saying how cute she is and wanted to help wen she started getting fussy. So SWEET.

The Night Before Baby

Today was my last day with my students until April. We had our Valentine party today so I could be there. With that on top of a 2 hour delay due to ice, we didn't get much work done but it was a nice last day with them. It is always difficult to leave my students but I am definitely going to enjoy my time home with my baby.

After school we brought the boys to my parents and headed to dinner at Plaza Mexico. YUM! And then came home to get our bags packed and relax in a quiet house. It was so nice to have the evening with just Davey and I before the craziness begins. Tomorrow we report to the hospital at 5:30am (SNORE) with the c-section scheduled for 7:30. As long as everything goes on time, my little girl will be here by 8am!

Family of 4

It's been a while since I last posted but I thought a life update was in order.

Tonight was our last night together as a family of four. We just kept it low key and watched a movie and read books.

Tomorrow  we send the boys to my parents for the night and Wednesday morning Baby Bekah arrives! Kinda strange knowing exactly when she's coming and in many ways it doesn't feel real. However, we are very excited to meet our little girl in 2 days.

Poor boys don't have a clue what's about to take over their lives.
